To provide you with suitable insurance recommendations and quotations, the first step is an online Zoom meeting with you and your partner, at a convenient time from the comfort of your own home.
This is an important part of our process because we need to understand your individual circumstances, needs and objectives before we can recommend suitable solutions.
During our meeting, we will complete a Personalised Financial Fitness Test together.
This interactive assessment allows us to look at your family's income, regular expenses and financial commitments.
We will then explore the potential financial impact on your family if you or your partner were to:
The purpose is to understand whether your family would be financially prepared for one of these unexpected events, or whether you could face difficulties maintaining your essential monthly commitments.
Only after understanding your circumstances can we assess whether additional insurance protection may be appropriate and, if so:
Our goal is not simply to provide you with a quote. It is to understand your circumstances first and then help you consider protection that is appropriate for your needs, objectives and budget.
Any recommendation will be based on the information you provide and will remain subject to the insurer's underwriting, eligibility criteria and policy terms and conditions.
After our initial meeting, you will need to complete and sign the relevant medical questionnaires.
The medical information you provide is an important part of the process. Pre-existing medical conditions and your medical history can affect the terms, availability and cost of insurance, depending on the insurer's underwriting criteria.
We need to understand this information before obtaining and presenting quotations so that we can consider options that may be appropriate for your circumstances.
Once we have the necessary information, we can research the available market and compare suitable insurance providers and products based on your needs, objectives and budget.
During our second meeting, we will present the quotations and options identified for you.
We will explain the key features, benefits, terms and costs of each option and answer any questions you may have.
We can then discuss the different levels of cover available and, where appropriate, adjust the proposed benefits.
For example, we can consider increasing or reducing the level of cover to find an option that provides the protection you are looking for while remaining within a monthly budget that you are comfortable with.
The aim is to help you consider suitable insurance protection that provides an appropriate level of cover at a premium you can afford.
If, after reviewing the available options, you are happy with the proposed benefits, level of cover and premium and decide to proceed, I will ask you to complete and sign an Authority to Proceed.
This will allow me to submit your application to the relevant insurance provider on your behalf.
The insurance provider will then assess your application in accordance with its underwriting criteria.
Depending on your circumstances, the insurer may request additional medical information, reports or other documentation before making a decision.
Please note that a quotation does not guarantee that cover will be offered on the quoted terms. The final terms, premium and availability of cover are subject to the insurer's underwriting and acceptance.
Once the insurer has completed its assessment and your application has been accepted, you will receive your policy documentation from the insurance provider.
This documentation will confirm the terms and conditions of your cover, including the benefits, exclusions, premium and other important information.
I will remain available to support you throughout the application process and help you understand your policy once it is in place.
Our aim is to make the process clear and straightforward, while ensuring you understand the protection you are applying for before making your decision.
Our service does not end once your policy is in place.
If you have questions about your insurance, need to update your policy details or would like to review your protection following a change in your circumstances, I will be available as your first point of contact.
Your circumstances can change over time — for example, through a change in your income, family circumstances, mortgage, employment or financial commitments. When this happens, it may be appropriate to review your existing protection to ensure it continues to meet your needs.
I can help you understand your existing cover, discuss whether a review may be appropriate and support you with any changes or queries relating to your insurance.
If you ever need to make a claim, I can also provide guidance on the claims process and help you understand what information may be required. The insurer will assess any claim in accordance with the terms and conditions of your policy.
Having an adviser you can come back to means you don't have to navigate your insurance protection alone.
